Our favorite features are the private screened in porch and patio area equipped with a grill and fire pit.

About the space
Anna is side A of the duplex “Anna Belle’s Retreat”. The first floor features a fully stocked kitchen with modern appliances and granite countertops. From the kitchen, an exterior door leads to a private screened in porch, which then leads to a small patio containing a gas grill and wood fire pit. The bottom floor also features a full bathroom, laundry room with full sized washer and dryer, and a living room with a sleeper sofa and Roku 58″ television.
Upstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms, another full bathroom, and a work space. Both bedrooms feature brand new queen beds, dressers, closets, and smart Roku TV’s. There is a small dedicated workspace, equipped with fiber optic internet, as well as a large bathroom. Linens, towels, and small toiletries are provided.
The driveway is shared between Anna and Belle but each side has designated parking and private front entrances.

I’m a native of Chapel Hill and love calling NC home! My husband Jason and I met in college (Elon) and got married a few years after graduation. We enjoy doing activities involving our three sons, especially sports and anything that includes being outdoors. We enjoy traveling as well as hosting.
About Anna Belle…
Anna Belle was my beloved grandmother and the matriarch of our large family. Anna Belle grew up right here in this area along Lystra Road where she spent her life farming. You may notice an old rock chimney still standing on the lot across from the retreat. The chimney is a remnant from a little house where Anna Belle lived in her youth. Unfortunately, the remains of the old house burned years ago. The chimney is the only remaining part. Her most current home still exists on another portion of the property.
My father named the road after her in the 1980’s as a tribute to her heritage and legacy. We found it only fitting to honor her again when naming our retreat. Although she never had much in terms of material belongings, she gave everyone she knew the valuable gifts of love, comfort, strength, humility and wisdom. She was certainly one of the hardest working ladies I’ve ever known and one that I will always admire. Her legacy lives on through her nine children, 27 grandchildren, and 50+ great grandchildren. We look forward to extending her sweet, genuine hospitality to you!
A little history about the retreat…
This duplex was originally built in 1985 by a local contractor. Through the years, it served as two long term rentals. After years of use, it was in need of repair. It could easily be described as a fixer upper!!
In September 2021, we were offered the opportunity to buy the existing property “as is” from the previous owner. Although we knew we were embarking on a sizable project, we were thrilled to be able to give it new life! After a year of renovations, we are honored to be able to present the new and improved Anna Belle’s Retreat! It is an honor to host you and your guests.
The original floor plan created wasted space and lack of flow. The downstairs bathroom featured a small half bath that we expanded to create a full bathroom with tile shower. Upstairs was covered in shag carpet and the bathroom was a jack and jill style space. Again, it lacked flow and storage. All existing building materials needed updating so we set out to do so. Not only did we completely redesign the floor plan, we also added outdoor spaces, such as screened and front porches, grilling patios, and privacy fencing. We hope to continue to add amenities to make our place even more appealing. Ultimately, we had you, our guests, in mind when we planned the extensive renovations. We hope you’ll find our place to be comfortable, relaxing, and accommodating throughout your stay and that you’ll want to visit us again soon!
